From Pastor Kech

Hey TCSquared!
Pastor Kech here…

We didn’t have the chance to catch up at Camp this year for our Speak Out Session. It is said by “oyibo” man that every cloud has a silver lining. So though we missed Camp, God has many new things in store for us this season. Better believe it!! One of those new things is our own new TC2 website followed shortly by our own TC2 app.

I will flip my age and read 51 as 15 so I can peep in sometimes and enjoy the site and the app. I love you so much and really miss seeing you hanging around after service as I am driven in my car to the Church Office Complex. I would usually spy at you through my window and marvel at how much you have grown.

That is it right? We are growing and changing every day. Now let me give you one tip. Although we cannot and should not stop growing, hear this:

DO NOT RUSH INTO ADULTHOOD!!!

So many of us can hardly wait to be 20 and above. Ah! Adulthood can be tough and full of more responsibility than liberty. When you rush to become an adult, it is usually the liberty that looks attractive. Don’t rush…Enjoy every day as a teenager! There is so much COOL STUFF to do that you really cannot do when you become a mature adult and then you will look back and wish…So enjoy your life as a teenager. Discover yourself, discover God, and discover people in general and enjoy the journey…intentionally. Be creative, think outside the box, and have fun, clean pure fun…but fun!! Laugh more! You are strengthened in tough times with the joy of the Lord and things change for the better!! Now let’s strike a balance. As much as you should not rush into adulthood, you shouldn’t stumble into it either. Here comes another tip:

PREPARE FOR ADULTHOOD!!

I have met many young adults who were clueless when they became adults. The responsibility of adulthood has to be prepared for! That is the RIGHT TRACK. As we experience cool stuff, we must keep it on the right track. A track that has adulthood and destiny as its destination. How do we prepare? Build habits deliberately. In simple things, build habits. From spiritual habits to secular habits. Habits with the Word and habits in praying and being led by the Spirit. Habits in obedience, in giving and respect. Habits in integrity and being counted upon to stand for what is right. Habits in saying, “No” when there is so much pressure to say “Yes”. Even habits in personal hygiene and dressing too!! That is the right track to be on and you will transit into adulthood smoothly just like the dawning of a new day.

By the grace of God, I know I will be alive and well and strong to celebrate that new day with you as you get onto the new track of maturing as an adult. Until then, rock your teen years to the max, building memories from now on that you can happily look back on!!

I love you very much
