In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, He created man and gave him dominion over the earth (garden of Eden); then man sinned or better still, he rebelled against God. According to human thoughts, man could have been said to be over, but God had not finished with man, there were plans made before the foundation of the earth as the Bible says in John 1:1 – 4, In the beginning, before the earth was made, the Word was there. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was there with God in the beginning. Everything was made through Him, and nothing was made without Him. In Him there was life, and that life was light for the people of the world.
So God killed a lamb and covered our nakedness and our sin, but mind you, it was only a temporary covering, the sacrifice wasn’t perfect.
Now the man was judged, punished and driven out from the garden, to work the cursed earth before he could eat, and yes the ground was cursed.
Then God said to the man,
“I commanded you not to eat from that tree. But you listened to your wife and ate from it. So I will curse the ground because of you. You will have to work hard all your life for the food the ground produces. Genesis 3:17 ERV
So man’s toil and hardship began, until years later, when the One who could be called a Perfect sacrifice, the Word becoming flesh, the Word who is God, an unblemished, spotless, precious lamb was born. His name is Jesus.
Now, you might have heard that name over and over again, it might even be sounding like a broken record in your ears, but that name is still relevant, still powerful and still showing man the way, even till now.
So who is Jesus, He’s the son of God, one in the trinity, our perfect sacrifice, our advocate who was born from the virgin, Mary, grew in wisdom and everyone including God was pleased with Him. Then Jesus began His ministry, which will ultimately lead him to his purpose.
So Jesus began to teach, admonish, heal and give life to man.
You might ask, but we are alive, so how was He giving us life? When Adam sinned and was cast out of the garden, he died spiritually and could no longer communicate with God on a one on one level because his spirit was dead,
God is Spirit. So the people who worship him must worship Him in spirit and truth.”
John 4:24 ERV
So man wasn’t qualified anymore, but that’s what Jesus came to do, to make us qualified, so we could come proudly to the throne of grace.
Now after His ministry of about three years, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, tried by a partial court, beaten, thrashed, and crucified upon the cross. However, on the third day after his death, something wonderful happened, He woke up and after making sure that there was evidence that He was alive which the religious leaders tried to but couldn’t hide, He ascended into the right hand of the Father. Hallelujah!!! (Been wanting to shout this), hallelujah!!! Becoming our big brother and giving us an equal inheritance right, an inheritance of life (more abundant), an inheritance of love (pure agape love), an inheritance of healing (by His stripes we were healed), inheritance of grace, joy and blessing.
Pause! But to become part of all this, you have to belong to Jesus, confessing Him as Lord and Savior, and allowing Him to use His blood to wash you clean and bring you into the fold of God as His child. It doesn’t matter what you think about yourself, thinking perhaps you’re not worthy, not eligible, who told you that? From that day on the cross, Jesus made you worthy, you’re eligible, you can participate and partake in the blessing of His redemption.
So if you want to say YES, repeat this prayer and say it meaning and believing every word: “Lord, I know I’ve sinned against You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins, come into my heart, be the Lord of my life, and help me to live for You forever. In Jesus name!” Congrats, an online hug to you too, welcome to the family!
If you prayed that prayer, you’re saved, you’re part of the fold, hallelujah!
